The carpenter's rule, the classic, analogue measuring instrument that is still an integral tool of any joiner's workshop, has been given a surprising new twist for its use at Welz, the traditional Appenzell-based carpenter's shop.
The "pli_able" suspended lamp with a lampshade made of 24 folded carpenter's rules was designed as an eye-catcher and a nod to the carpenter's trade. It complements the table with wooden trestles and industrial green metal furniture used in the joiner's offices. Both are references to the original trade and today's manufacturing.
